    Question

Has anyone purchased a clothes press and repaired it? I wondered if a furniture repair person might be able to fix dings and nicks so that they were imperceptible. Just a thought because these things are so expensive. Let me know if anyone has had any luck with this. Thanks.

My Dad refinishes wooden items like this and it all depends on the type of damage, the type of wood, and the type of finish that the piece has. So does your clothes press have major or minor damage to it. If they are small they could be filled, sanded, and stained to match the original wood a satin varinish or polyurithane then would have to be applied to protect the piece. Please ask me if you have further questions and I will ask him, unfortunatly he is doing a major repair work on a cane bottomed rocker or I would offer his services.
